Upaya is a tech-enabled logistics service provider offering various intra-city and intercity delivery services. They provide an innovative tech platform that delivers quality logistics solutions to transform the way things move in Nepal.
Business Challenge
Earlier, Upaya hosted its applications on the VPS provider in Nepal. As it heavily relies on technology, the operational tasks entirely depend on the applications’ reliability, availability, and serviceability. To summarize, before AWS, Upaya faced the following:
- Complexity in creating well-managed VMs
- Flexibility to change without any local provider’s intervention
- Issues in upscaling and downscaling resources in response to traffic.
- Constant network outages at the data center impacted overall operations.
- Poor monitoring and analysis of the performance of the servers

Solution Delivered
One of the major outputs Upaya wanted out of this project was to enhance the user’s serviceability. They wanted resilience in their operations, per the rate of incoming traffic & improved performance of their applications.
For this, we assisted Upaya in migrating its databases to AWS RDS along with the management of its applications on EC2. This enabled flexibility for their developers toward strategic alignment. Moreover, Upaya noticed the results of utilizing these solutions when their additional administrative overheads started declining.
Additionally, we worked with Upaya to create a better management of their AWS environments about efficiency, performance, & security. As Upaya started adapting various AWS services, we assisted in reducing future dependencies of Upaya’s internal team with TekBay.
For an effective knowledge transfer, we provided adequate training and workshops to help understand newly introduced AWS features and services. We further helped create respective training and education portals on AWS for Upaya.
